Cleared are partnering with a multinational System Integrator. As part of our continued growth, we are seeking experienced AWS DevOps Engineers to support national security programs in Melbourne and Canberra.

Job Description
The AWS DevOps Engineer will design, build and maintain secure, automated and scalable cloud environments within highly classified programs. You will work across AWS cloud services, automation, CI/CD pipelines, containerisation and secure infrastructure operations to enable rapid, reliable and compliant software delivery. This role requires deep technical capability, strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to operate effectively within TSPV‑cleared environments.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, build and maintain secure AWS cloud environments across classified systems
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using modern DevOps tooling
  • Implement automation using Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tools
  • Deploy and manage containerised workloads using Docker, ECS, EKS or similar technologies
  • Support secure integration of applications, services and data flows within AWS
  • Conduct system hardening, patching and compliance activities aligned with ASD ISM
  • Troubleshoot complex cloud, platform and pipeline issues across multi‑disciplinary teams
  • Produce technical documentation, runbooks and environment configuration records
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers and security teams to uplift cloud capability
  • Support continuous improvement, automation and operational excellence initiatives

Education/Certifications required

  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Engineering or related discipline
  • AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, SysOps Administrator) highly regarded

Knowledge/Skills required

  • Strong hands‑on experience with AWS cloud services, including compute, networking, storage and security
  • Experience designing and operating secure cloud environments in government or Defence contexts
  • Proficiency with CI/CD tooling such as GitLab, GitHub Actions, Bamboo or AWS CodePipeline
  • Strong automation skills using Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible or similar
  • Experience with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, ECS, EKS, Kubernetes)
  • Strong scripting capability (Python, Bash or PowerShell)
  • Understanding of secure cloud patterns, identity management and access control
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to work effectively within highly secure, fast‑paced environments
