The business has long standing relationships within the industry and this role will continue to grow and develop those accounts with Defence & Industry.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Cultivate and strengthen relationships with existing and prospective clients, suppliers, and key industry stakeholders.

  • Lead customer engagement activities, including preparing and delivering persuasive presentations, proposals, and tenders.

  • Analyse market trends, competitor movements, and emerging opportunities to inform strategic direction.

  • Define project scope and develop accurate pricing for quotations and proposals.

  • Manage and maintain the company's sales pipeline to support reliable forecasting and reporting.

  • Support commercial negotiations to achieve favourable outcomes aligned with company objectives.

  • Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities within Defence, government, and industrial markets.

  • Work collaboratively with internal teams-including marketing, engineering, and senior management-to ensure solutions align with customer and market needs.

  • Attend industry events and conferences to gather market intelligence

Experience required

  • Australian citizenship with eligibility for an AGSVA Security Clearance.

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or client relationship management, within Defence or government sectors.

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and ability to identify, assess, and act on growth opportunities.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multifunctional teams.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings, conferences, and industry events.

  • Experience in technical sales or sustainment services within Defence environments.
  • Prior engagement with the Australian Defence Force (ADF) or other government entities.
