Job Description
We are looking for Junior Network Engineers to support the delivery and operation of complex ICT infrastructure.
You'll work across a mix of physical, virtual, and network environments, gaining hands-on experience with enterprise-grade systems while contributing to critical national capabilities.
This is a strong opportunity for someone early in their career to build real depth in network engineering within a structured, high-performance environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and maintenance of ICT infrastructure, including Cisco and Juniper networking systems and cryptographic devices
- Monitor system performance and reliability using standard tools and processes
- Perform system configuration, backup, and restore activities
- Use tools such as SolarWinds, Cisco Transport Controller, and Splunk to track performance and generate reports
- Capture and respond to incidents, problems, and changes through IT service management platforms
- Assist with account management and access control
- Identify operational issues and contribute to their resolution
- Document systems, processes, and enhancements
Education/Certifications required
- Relevant tertiary qualification in IT, Networking, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Industry certifications (e.g. CCNA, JNCIA) are desirable
Knowledge/Skills required
- Experience with Cisco and/or Juniper networking environments
- Exposure to network monitoring tools (e.g. SolarWinds, Splunk)
- Understanding of core ICT infrastructure and network operations
- Basic scripting or programming capability for automation tasks
- Ability to follow structured processes and document work clearly
- Strong problem-solving approach and willingness to learn
