Security Clearance:Must be able to obtain Positive Vetting. ASD is seeking NV2 and TSPV security cleared candidates only.
Suitable candidates will be required to complete ASD's Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) prior to commencement.

Job details
Software testers determine and then carry out testing activities to validate the design and behaviour of systems and services.
Software testers will be responsible, under general direction, for executing test plans and test cases, in accordance with the projects testing strategy. They will ensure traceability to requirements, raise defects and work collaboratively with delivery staff in relation to testing and regression activities.
Key duties and responsibilities
· Create and execute fit for purpose test plans and test cases in accordance with the projects testing strategy.
· Document traceability between requirements and test cases.
· Document test scripts, materials and regression test packs to test new and amended software or services.
· Automate testing where possible, including the development of bespoke test harnesses.
· Specify requirements for environment, data, resources and tools to facilitate efficient and effective testing. Interpret, execute and document complex test scripts using agreed methods and standards.
· Record and analyse actions and results, maintain a defect register and work closely with delivery team to progress defect resolutions
· Conduct other testing related tasks within the scope of the stated APS level, as required by the business area.
Technical skills
· Testing experience in an Agile software development/delivery environment. · Testing certification desirable
Criteria

Essential criteria
1.User Acceptance testing (BPTS) level 4 Develops acceptance criteria related to functional and non-functional requirements, business processes, user stories and business rules. Designs and specifies test cases and scenarios to test that systems, products and services fulfil the acceptance criteria and deliver the predicted business benefits. Analyses and reports on test activities, results, issues and risks, including the work of others.
2.Functional testing (TEST) level 4 Selects appropriate functional testing approaches, considering risk, criticality and complexity. Develops, automates and executes
comprehensive test plans and cases. Configures environments to mirror real-world usage, collaborates with stakeholders to refine requirements and manages scalable automated testing frameworks. Identifies and mitigates risks during testing, provides detailed analysis and reports on functional activities and results, including the work of others.
3.Non Functional testing (NFTS) level 4 Selects suitable non-functional testing approaches, considering system criticality and complexity. Develops, automates and executes test plans for end-to-end system attributes. Configures and manages complex test environments, ensuring alignment with production conditions. Applies risk-based strategies to prioritise test efforts and collaborates across teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage. Analysts and reports of test activities, results and risks, including the work of others.
4.Process Testing (PRTS) level 4 Selects and applies appropriate testing approaches based on business criticality, risk and process complexity. Develops, automates and executes detailed test plans focusing on end-to-end process validation. Provides detailed analysis and reports on the impact of test results on business operations, including work done by others.
Working Arrangements
Onsite only - WFH is not permitted.
Candidates must hold an active NV2 or TSPV clearance.
Willingness to undertake ASD's Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) within 12 months is required.
