Network Infrastructure Engineers

Location: South Australia (primarily RAAF Edinburgh)
Working Arrangement: Onsite (shift work required)
Clearance Required: TSPV

Company Overview

You'll be working within the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD), a key part of Australia's national security capability.

ASD sits at the centre of signals intelligence, cyber security, and offensive cyber operations. The work here is mission-critical, high-trust, and directly tied to protecting Australia from global threats.

The Role

This is hands-on infrastructure engineering inside a highly secure, complex ICT environment.

What this really means is you'll be keeping critical networks running, resilient, and secure - not just maintaining systems, but actively improving how they perform under real operational pressure.

These roles sit at an APS6-equivalent level and involve shift work in environments where uptime and performance genuinely matter.

What You'll Do

  • Support and maintain large-scale ICT infrastructure environments
  • Work across Cisco and Juniper networking platforms, including cryptographic devices
  • Monitor performance and reliability using tools like SolarWinds, Cisco Transport Controller, and Splunk
  • Manage incidents, problems, and changes through ITSM platforms
  • Perform system configuration, backups, and recovery operations
  • Identify operational issues and contribute to resolution
  • Document system processes, enhancements, and procedures
  • Contribute to disaster recovery planning and testing

What You'll Bring

Must-have:

  • Experience administering Cisco and/or Juniper network environments
  • Strong infrastructure background across network and core ICT systems
  • Experience monitoring and analysing network performance
  • Solid troubleshooting capability in live operational environments
  • Experience working with ITSM tools and incident management

Nice to have:

  • Exposure to cryptographic or secure network environments
  • Automation or scripting experience
  • Experience in Defence or national security environments

Technical Capability (aligned to SFIA)

  • Availability Management (Level 4): Managing system reliability, performance targets, and disaster recovery
  • IT Infrastructure (Level 4): Implementing and maintaining infrastructure, automation, and performance monitoring
  • Problem Management (Level 3): Investigating and resolving system issues
  • Systems Installation (Level 4): Managing complex installs, upgrades, and handovers

Qualifications

  • Relevant ICT qualifications or equivalent experience
  • Must complete ASD Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) prior to commencement

Contract Details

  • Potential Start: 1 September 2026
  • Initial Term: 12 months
  • Extensions: 2 x 12 months

Why Join

  • Work on some of Australia's most sensitive and critical technology environments
  • Be part of a mission that directly impacts national security
