SATCOM Networks Specialist

Cleared Recruitment is currently supporting a global satellite communications provider, seeking a NV1 Solutions Specialist in Sydney to join their Engineering team.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a team delivering critical voice, data, and video services for government and military operations globally.

In this role, you'll design, install, and maintain satellite-connected networking solutions, adapting systems to meet client needs and providing training and post-sales support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, configure, install, and maintain satellite hardware and customer networks.
• Support legacy networks, applications, and airtime systems.
• Manage internal network infrastructure (routers, firewalls, servers, secure networks).
• Diagnose and resolve customer issues (remote and on-site).
• Provide technical support for pre-sales activities, demonstrations, and exhibitions.
• Assemble, test, and document custom client solutions.
• Deliver operator and technical training to customers.
• Perform technical inspections, repairs, and maintenance on various platforms (aero, marine, land).

Requirements:

• Formal trade qualification in Electrotechnology, Telecommunications, or IP Networking (Cert IV or equivalent).
• At least 4 years of relevant experience in IP networking, IT, or satellite communications.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft or Linux operating systems.
• Experience configuring networking hardware (routers, firewalls, switches).
• Analytical and troubleshooting skills for satellite and terrestrial communications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Visio.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces (certifications or willingness to obtain).
• The position also includes participating in a 24/7 on-call roster to support mobile satellite systems and networks.

Desirable Qualifications:

• TAE40116 Workplace Training and Assessment qualification.
• GVF Advanced Installer or Examiner certification.
• Certifications in IP Networking (e.g., Cisco CCNA, Network+), Microsoft, Linux, Asterisk, virtualisation (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), and ITIL Foundation.

This role requires domestic and international travel and candidates must have an NV1 Australian Defence security clearance, with a driver's licence and passport also required.
