The Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) is a statutory agency in the Defence portfolio that defends Australia against global threats and advances Australia's national interests through the provision of foreign signals intelligence, cyber security and offensive cyber operations as directed by the Australian Government.

Job Description
ASD is seeking experienced Senior Cyber Advisors to provide ICT security advice and assistance across government. Cyber Advisors support cyber security outcomes through policy development, project advice, research activities and the analysis of cyber security data to strengthen organisational security posture.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Support system certification and validation activities to enable accreditation
• Provide advice on a range of information and cyber security matters
• Analyse cyber security activities and data to improve security posture
• Assess cyber security practices for compliance with policies, standards and guidelines
• Research and identify cyber security vulnerabilities and potential intrusion methods

Education/Certifications required

• Relevant qualifications or certifications in cyber security or information security
• Certified Infosec Registered Assessors Program (IRAP) is desirable

Knowledge/Skills required

• Experience providing ICT and cyber security advice within government environments
• Demonstrated understanding of information security research and applied research principles
• Experience assessing cyber security risks, threats and vulnerabilities
• Knowledge of Essential Eight maturity and other cyber security frameworks
• Ability to produce clear reporting and recommendations to improve security posture
