We are seeking a skilled Senior Security Assessor Cyber Advisor to join the Authority to Operate (ATO) team supporting the delivery of the TOP SECRET (TS) Cloud Program. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a transformative initiative bringing commercial hyperscale cloud capabilities to the National Intelligence Community (NIC).

The ATO team is taking an agile, risk-based approach to assessing and authorising the TS Cloud ICT platform. The successful candidate will work closely with ASD and NIC security stakeholders to ensure high levels of security assurance are built incrementally throughout the TS Cloud build phase.

Job Description

ASD is seeking a Cloud Security Assessor to join the Authority to Operate (ATO) team. The successful candidate will support the agile and risk-based assessment and authorisation of the TS Cloud ICT platform. This role involves working closely with ASD and NIC security stakeholders to ensure high levels of security assurance are achieved throughout the TS Cloud build phase.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Collaborate with ATO team members to plan, conduct and deliver security assessments of TS Cloud components, Cloud Service Provider (CSP) services, and cloud adoption technologies.
• Engage NIC and CSP security authorities, subject matter experts and business stakeholders to ensure comprehensive and defensible assessment outcomes.
• Conduct assessments in accordance with ASD's tailored ISM-based methodology, including:

1. Information gathering and analysis from CSP, industry and open sources
2. Component modelling and threat identification
3. Evaluation of implemented security controls
4. Risk assessment using ASD's enterprise framework
5. Recommendations for additional controls where necessary
6. Production of security artefacts to support authorisation decisions

Education/Certifications Required

Relevant tertiary qualifications in cyber security, information technology, such as Certified IRAP Assessor, CISA - Certified Information Systems Auditor, GSNA - GIAC Systems and Network Auditor, or Bachelor/Masters in Cyber Security.

Knowledge/Skills Required

• Demonstrated experience in cloud security assessment, preferably within classified environments
• Strong understanding of the Information Security Manual (ISM) and risk-based cyber security approaches
• Ability to model threats and assess security controls effectively
• Excellent communication skills for engaging stakeholders and producing clear, defensible documentation
• Familiarity with agile delivery principles and automated security assurance methods

Clearance Required

• Minimum Negative Vetting Level 2 (NV2) or Positive Vetting (PV)
• Candidates must be willing to undergo ASD's Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) prior to engagement
