Simulation Software Engineer

Cleared Recruitment is partnering with a Canberra-based Management Consultancy that is actively seeking a Simulation Software Engineer to join their team supporting several key customers. This position is based in Canberra starting ASAP!

About the Opportunity
This role requires a minimum NV1 Security Clearance. You will provide essential software engineering support to ensure the successful execution of projects. You'll collaborate closely with team members and stakeholders to enhance communication and must have interest in, or the capacity to learn a technical tool that can enhance problem-solving capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilise AnyLogic simulation software to design and develop models that represent complex systems using multi-method modelling approaches, including agent-based, discrete-event, and system dynamics.
• Write and maintain code using programming languages like Python and Java to implement simulation models.
• Analyse simulation data to derive insights, validate model accuracy, and inform decision-making.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of models, methodologies, and simulation results to ensure reproducibility and clarity.
• Collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to integrate simulations into broader systems and workflows.
• Conduct testing and validation of models to ensure their reliability and accuracy under various scenarios.

Essential Criteria

• Ideally, experience using AnyLogic simulation software
• Experience in management consulting or similar field
• Experience and qualifications relevant to business analysis, engineering, or quantitative problem solving
• Experience with multi-method modelling, including agent-based, discrete-event , and system dynamics
• Proficiency in JAVA and/or Python
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong analytical skills to interpret complex information from a large variety of sources (technical documentation, project plans, logistics data, etc)
• Highly adaptable to changing environments and flexible to meet client expectations
• Exceptional problem-solving capacity and attention to detail
• Familiarity with project management (planning, scheduling, etc) and comfort working in an Agile project
• Strong communication skills, ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Strong data visualisation skills, ideally including experience with UX/UI design
• Ability to draw insights from data and produce recommendations
