Location: ACT, Australia
Contract Duration: 12 months (with 2 extensions possible)
Working Arrangement: Hybrid (Onsite & Remote)
Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain Positive Vetting
Max Hours: 40 hours per week

The Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Security Architect to strengthen our capabilities in defending Australia against cyber threats. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development, assessment, and accreditation of secure cloud platforms while working in a highly dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design & Documentation: Collaborate with stakeholders to design and document robust cloud system security controls.
• Security Accreditation: Ensure cloud systems achieve and maintain ITSEC Security Accreditation at the "PROTECTED" level.
• Risk Management: Perform risk assessments, develop risk registers, and manage threats associated with cloud infrastructure.
• Leadership: Provide expert leadership on IT security, educating teams and continuously improving processes to safeguard ASD's infrastructure.
• Operational Security: Oversee operational IT security, including device inspections and proactive threat monitoring.

What We're Looking For:

• Experience: Proven experience in security controls for complex systems, cloud computing, and ICT security analytics.
• Leadership: Expertise in managing security risk, providing strategic advice, and ensuring adherence to security standards.
• Cloud Security Solutions: A deep understanding of cloud security frameworks and the ability to apply them across diverse platforms.
• Security Assessments: Experience in conducting security risk assessments and business impact analysis for large-scale systems.

Essential Skills:

• Information Assurance: Ability to interpret security policies and apply them to manage risk and ensure compliance.
• Security Risk Strategies: Proven experience in guiding security strategies and developing new architectures to manage emerging risks.
• Cloud Security Accreditation: Expertise in ITSEC Security Accreditation processes, particularly for cloud environments.
• Compliance: Knowledge of standards like ISO 27001 and the ability to assess compliance across various systems.
