EOC/ Desktop Support
NV1 EOC/Desktop Support Team Member - Long-Term Federal Government Program - Melbourne
We are partnering with a well-established global consulting firm that supports Federal Government departments in transforming and securing their digital environments.
We're currently looking for an NV1-cleared EOC/Desktop Support Team Member to join a long-term program focused on maintaining the performance and availability of essential IT systems across a secure environment based in Melbourne.
Key Responsibilities:
Keep watch across all key systems, services, and networks - jumping on alerts and events before they escalate
Log incidents through ServiceNow and follow through to make sure they're managed properly
Keep system availability dashboards up to date and accurate
Put up and pull down maintenance pages as needed when changes are happening
Pull together reports that give execs and ops teams a clear picture of what's going on
Spot issues early by monitoring key thresholds - the goal is to stay ahead of incidents
Be hands-on through incident response - from first alert to resolution
Work alongside other providers to help keep ITSM and SIAM processes running smoothly
Flag infrastructure issues and keep the right people informed early
Support resolver teams and the Service Desk with updates, context, and coordination when incidents hit
Tools & Tech, You'll Use:
Monitoring platforms (e.g. Splunk)
ITSM tools like ServiceNow
ITIL-aligned frameworks
Microsoft Office tools
Key Activities:
Continuous Improvement: Contribute ideas to improve EOC processes and tools, including updates to system dashboards.
Monitoring: Maintain real-time oversight of services and infrastructure, escalating issues when thresholds are breached.
User Onboarding/Offboarding: Assist with onboarding and offboarding of service partners within the EOC environment.
Disaster Recovery: Participate in simulations and DR testing as required.
Team Coordination: Help ensure smooth day-to-day operations by collaborating with stakeholders and supporting incident management workflows.
What We're Looking For:
At least 1 year of experience in an IT support or operations centre environment.
Qualifications in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
A sound understanding of ITIL principles, especially incident and event management.
Ability to work in a rostered shift environment, with on-call and after-hours availability when needed.
Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude to problem-solving.
Security Clearance Requirement:
To be considered for this role, Australian Citizenship is essential. Candidates must hold an active NV1 security clearance.
