NV1 EOC/Desktop Support Team Member - Long-Term Federal Government Program - Melbourne

We are partnering with a well-established global consulting firm that supports Federal Government departments in transforming and securing their digital environments.

We're currently looking for an NV1-cleared EOC/Desktop Support Team Member to join a long-term program focused on maintaining the performance and availability of essential IT systems across a secure environment based in Melbourne.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Keep watch across all key systems, services, and networks - jumping on alerts and events before they escalate

  • Log incidents through ServiceNow and follow through to make sure they're managed properly

  • Keep system availability dashboards up to date and accurate

  • Put up and pull down maintenance pages as needed when changes are happening

  • Pull together reports that give execs and ops teams a clear picture of what's going on

  • Spot issues early by monitoring key thresholds - the goal is to stay ahead of incidents

  • Be hands-on through incident response - from first alert to resolution

  • Work alongside other providers to help keep ITSM and SIAM processes running smoothly

  • Flag infrastructure issues and keep the right people informed early

  • Support resolver teams and the Service Desk with updates, context, and coordination when incidents hit

Tools & Tech, You'll Use:

  • Monitoring platforms (e.g. Splunk)

  • ITSM tools like ServiceNow

  • ITIL-aligned frameworks

  • Microsoft Office tools

Key Activities:

  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute ideas to improve EOC processes and tools, including updates to system dashboards.

  • Monitoring: Maintain real-time oversight of services and infrastructure, escalating issues when thresholds are breached.

  • User Onboarding/Offboarding: Assist with onboarding and offboarding of service partners within the EOC environment.

  • Disaster Recovery: Participate in simulations and DR testing as required.

  • Team Coordination: Help ensure smooth day-to-day operations by collaborating with stakeholders and supporting incident management workflows.

What We're Looking For:

  • At least 1 year of experience in an IT support or operations centre environment.

  • Qualifications in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • A sound understanding of ITIL principles, especially incident and event management.

  • Ability to work in a rostered shift environment, with on-call and after-hours availability when needed.

  • Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude to problem-solving.

Security Clearance Requirement:

To be considered for this role, Australian Citizenship is essential. Candidates must hold an active NV1 security clearance.
