PreSales Consultant (Security and Networking)
The Role
We are seeking a Pre-Sales Consultant with strong capabilities in network security and cyber architecture design. In this role, you will act as a subject matter expert (SME) across both cybersecurity and enterprise networking, supporting client engagements across government and enterprise sectors.
You will lead technical discovery, contribute to solution strategy, and take ownership of the technical design and delivery of Zscaler, Fortinet, CrowdStrike, Azure and Aruba-based solutions. As a trusted advisor, you'll work closely with customers to shape their network and security architecture, solve complex infrastructure challenges, and define scalable, secure transformation paths aligned with Zero Trust, hybrid cloud, and modern enterprise infrastructure.

Role responsibilities
- Acting as the primary SME for Zscaler architecture and implementation, leading end-to-end technical engagements and pre-sales conversations.
- Designing and delivering SASE, SSE, and Zero Trust solutions, incorporating SWG, ZTNA, CASB, and DLP across hybrid enterprise environments.
- Providing advanced technical support, insight, and direction during pre-sales activities-including solution scoping, design, and proposal development.
- Working as a technical lead and trusted advisor across client engagements, contributing to security strategies, roadmaps, and enterprise IT transformation planning.
- Assisting the Sales Team by delivering tailored presentations, demos, and proof-of-value engagements to articulate solution benefits and technical outcomes.
- Collaborating with vendor partners (e.g. Zscaler, Fortinet, Aruba) to stay aligned on best practices, certification tracks, and customer success strategies.
- Contribution to the progression of the a23 strategy through participation in individual, Practice and company objectives.

Qualifications and Requirements
Experience
- 3+ years demonstrated experience as a Senior Pre-Sales Architect or Consultant, ideally within a Systems Integrator (SI) environment.
- Hold or have the ability to obtain a AGSVA Security Clearance (i.e. Australian Citizen).
- Deep technical knowledge and hands-on experience with Zscaler technologies (ZIA, ZPA, ZDX)-design, configuration, and solution delivery.
- Experience leading complex engagements across network and security domains, with strong architecture and implementation skills in Zscaler.
- Experience with M365 and Azure is desirable.
Technical Skills & Certifications
- Expertise in network protocols and cybersecurity solutions, including firewalls, email security, endpoint protection, SIEM, SASE, and EDR/MDR/TDR.
- Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, Essential 8 and Zero trust.
- Microsoft 365 Security / Azure Security Services
- Certifications such as ZCCA / ZCCP, Fortinet NSE, or Microsoft Security are highly regarded.
Communication & Presentation Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with proven experience engaging senior technical and business leaders-translating complex customer needs into clear, actionable solutions tailored to both technical and executive audiences.
- Experience with business requirements gathering, architecture planning, and documentation development.
