About the Role
We're seeking an experienced NV1 Backup & Storage Engineer to join a leading technology consultancy in Canberra. This permanent role supports high-profile government and enterprise clients. This role involves designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-grade storage and backup solutions across both on-premise and cloud platforms.

You'll play a key role in ensuring environments are secure, reliable, and compliant with government frameworks. This is a hands-on role that also requires strong client engagement skills and the ability to contribute to solution design and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deploy backup solutions using Commvault and Veeam across on-premise and cloud environments.
• Design and implement enterprise storage systems such as NetApp and Pure Storage.
• Perform patching, upgrades, and maintenance to ensure system stability and security.
• Ensure storage, backup, and recovery systems align with ISM controls and the Essential Eight framework.
• Collaborate with vendors and stakeholders to troubleshoot issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes.
• Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, including HLDs, LLDs, as-built documents, and work instructions.

Skills & Experience Required

• 5+ years' experience delivering storage and backup solutions in large enterprise environments.
• Hands-on expertise with Commvault (cloud capability highly regarded) and Veeam.
• Strong background in NetApp and Pure Storage platforms.
• Understanding of ISM and Essential Eight requirements in secure environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven experience producing technical design and operational documentation.
• Relevant certifications (Commvault, Veeam, NetApp, Pure Storage) will be highly regarded.
