USV Technician

We are currently seeking applications from experienced technicians to work on Uncrewed Surface Vessel. This role is based in Melbourne but will have interstate travel requirements. Due to the nature of this program the role will need to be able to commit to deployed interstate work for a period of approximately 1 months and 24/7 shiftwork for a period of 2-3 months.

In this role you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing and repairing ocean going boats, diesel outboard motors and onboard marine systems including Radars, AIS, Electro-optical systems, onboard computing, networking, SATCOM and UHF systems.

The successful candidate will have a background in marine technology and an in-depth understanding of marine electrical / mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct planned and corrective maintenance on relevant marine systems
• Contribute to the development and upkeep of USV maintenance procedures
• Maintain accurate maintenance records of repair and inspections
• Lead troubleshooting and diagnostics of onboard systems
• Maintain the USV to the highest safety standards
• Conduct commissioning & testing of USV systems
• Daily monitoring of vessel technical state

Prerequisites:

• Relevant technical qualifications in marine technology, mechanical engineering or related field
• Experience in Uncrewed Surface Vehicle maintenance is highly desirable
• Hands on experience with marine system maintenance
• Experience maintaining diesel outboard motors - highly desirable
• In depth marine technical understanding
• Ability to travel interstate on ad hoc requirement
• Ability to commit to a 24/7 roster
• Current Baseline or higher AGSVA clearance
• Australian citizen.
