Business Change Manager - Federal Government Projects

Start Date: February 2026
Duration: Initial 12-month contract with 2 x 12-month extension options
Location: Canberra (on-site, hybrid considered)
Security Clearance: Minimum NV1 security clearance required - please note the department will not sponsor new clearances.

About the Role
We are seeking experienced Business Change Managers to support the delivery of key projects and initiatives within a Federal Government agency. These roles are critical to ensuring successful project outcomes, timely delivery, and alignment with strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive change management strategies and plans.
  • Design and deliver communications, training, and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
  • Conduct change impact assessments and readiness evaluations to guide business units.
  • Monitor and report on adoption, benefits realisation, and performance outcomes.
  • Provide expert advice on change management methodologies and best practices.
  • Identify risks and develop mitigation plans to support business continuity.
  • Collaborate with project teams, executives, and stakeholders to align change efforts.
  • Develop and execute communication strategies using digital adoption tools.
  • Lead change readiness assessments and provide actionable insights.
  • Mentor and coach staff to foster a culture of adaptability and learning.
  • Maintain documentation and records in line with organisational standards.
  • Support the Change Management Practice through knowledge transfer and practice building.


Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in business change management within complex environments.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Ability to design and deliver training and adoption programs.
  • Familiarity with digital adoption tools and change frameworks (e.g., Prosci, ADKAR).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage risks and deliver outcomes under tight timelines.
  • Previous experience in Federal Government projects.
  • NV1 security clearance is mandatory.
