Cleared Recruitment is seeking an experienced Senior UNIX/Linux Infrastructure Engineer to join a dynamic federal government team. This role offers the chance to contribute to critical infrastructure management, mentor junior engineers, and lead advanced troubleshooting for the department's Midrange Unix environments. You will play a key role in designing secure, automated solutions to meet business needs, while ensuring system resilience and reducing technical debt.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the management and maintenance of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, IBM AIX, and Oracle SPARC platforms.
- Provide Level 2/Level 3 support, collaborating with project and application teams to align technical solutions with business requirements.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers, fostering technical growth within the team.
- Implement automation solutions using Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform to improve efficiency.
- Participate in infrastructure upgrades, patching, migrations, and high availability planning.
- Support security monitor and compliance, ensuring ISM-compliant secure platforms.
- Contribute to incident response and problem management activities, providing expert guidance for complex issues.
- Participate in the Unix Operations on-call roster, with occasional after-hours support for scheduled maintenance.

Mandatory Criteria:
- Strong experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and IBM AIX operating systems.
- Experience creating detailed technical documentation, including as-built documents and support guides.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with networking, storage, security engineers, and architects to coordinate deployments.
- Experience working with vendors and internal teams to ensure solution delivery meets requirements.

Desirable Skills (Weighted Criteria):
- Experience with Red Hat Ansible Automation, Red Hat Pacemaker, Red Hat Satellite, and Identity Manager.
- Virtualization experience on platforms such as IBM Power, VMware, OpenStack, and Oracle SPARC.
- Certifications such as Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), Red Hat Certified Administrator (RHCA), or Oracle Solaris Administration Certification.

Eligibility:
- NV1 or NV2 Security Clearance is mandatory.
