Electrical Technician

Cleared has supported some of Australia's most unique and specialised Defence organisations for over 5+ years and counting and is actively partnered with a key Defence Marine SME in Perth supporting submarine escape and rescue services and is now actively seeking an experienced electrical marine technician, ideally ex-uniform or experience on defence platforms to maintain and service relevant systems and equipment for the Australian Navy Collins class submarines.
Role is permanent full-time with flexibility and growth.

Role: Electrical Technician

Location: Bibra Lake, WA

Employment: Permanent full-time

While Onshore:

• Conducting the planned maintenance and defect rectification activities for the JFSRS equipment in accordance with approved plans and procedures and in compliance with statutory and certification requirements.
• Support maintenance of rescue system technical library of publications, manuals, procedures and drawings as appropriate.
• Provide support as required for the planning and preparation of activities relating to JFSRS mobilisations and exercises.

While Offshore:

• The safe and efficient operation of the Rescue System in accordance with the Standard and Emergency Operations Procedures.
• Operational safety of the JFSRS and associated systems and its operators.
• Conduct Pre-and Post-Dive Checks on the JFSRS rescue equipment in accordance with approved procedures.

Special features:

• Be available to report for duty at the JFSRS Base in Bibra Lake, WA, at a maximum of 12 hours (In agreeance with the Manager-SERS), to deploy the rescue systems in the event of a DISSUB accident in accordance with JFSRS Call-Out Procedures.
• Position requirement includes ability to gain security access to AUS Defence establishments and hold a police clearance.
• Position requires developing piloting skills for the submersible (LR5) and sailing on every deployment in line with team operations

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Trade qualified with 3 - 5+ year's experience in maintenance and electrical fault finding.
• Current WA Electrical License High Voltage
• Experience as a Systems Technician in submarines, ROV and/or AUV systems operating in aviation or marine environments, desirable.
• Possesses an in-depth knowledge and experience of fault finding and rectification processes with mechanical and electrical equipment.
