Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior System Support Engineer - High Performance Computing (HPC) to provide on-site technical support, installation, maintenance, and optimisation for complex HPC systems. This role will see you delivering critical support services in secure environments, acting as a trusted advisor for customers and contributing to the design and enhancement of technical solutions. On-site work is essential to maintain system performance and ensure compliance with security protocols.

Duties and Responsibilities

• 
  Deliver detailed technical design solutions aligned with project requirements
• 
  Provide advanced technical consulting for HPC solution design, system management, and performance tuning
• 
  Lead the implementation of new installations, migrations, and upgrades for HPC environments
• 
  Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and system-level issues in a secure setting
• 
  Collaborate with project managers, technical leads, and customers to deliver high-quality outcomes
• 
  Document technical designs, system configurations, and standard operating procedures
• 
  Contribute to proposal development, including technical input and solution design
• 
  Identify and pursue new opportunities within existing customer environments

Education/Certifications Required

• 
  Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (desirable)
• 
  TSPV security clearance with OSA is mandatory

Knowledge/Skills Required

• 
  Deep expertise in Linux/Unix systems administration in HPC environments
• 
  Strong knowledge of parallel file systems such as Lustre or GPFS
• 
  Experience with networking technologies relevant to HPC clusters
• 
  Proficiency in programming and scripting languages (e.g. Python, C++)
• 
  Ability to design and deliver secure, high-availability HPC solutions
• 
  Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues
• 
  Excellent communication skills to engage with senior stakeholders
