Ex-ADF Simulation Technicians
Have you recently left the ADF or are looking to transition out and join the Defence Industry and make a greater impact for sovereign capability and our warfighter?
Our client specialises in advanced mapping and simulation software for ADF and other international Defence forces and is looking to grow its highly focused team in Canberra with several opportunities available in light on recent projects awarded.
If you are a current private/Able seaman level or above ranking technician/operator or have knowledge of Defence simulation protocols, RHL(RedHat Linux), ITIL and/or combat simulation training and instructing, than we have the job for you!
Roles available:
Senior Simulation Technician, Simulation Technician, C4i Integrator Technician, Military Instructor/Controller.
Junior to Senior level Combat Systems Operators, Electronic Warfare Analysts, Network/Systems Technicians and Instructors are encouraged to apply!
Our client is also open to graduate level software engineers or software technicians with Australian Citizenship willing to learn and deep dive into simulation software systems.
Potential responsibilities:
- Responsible for the planning, setup, configuration and operation of C4I applications and systems in support of ADF training events
- Software simulation development and programming utilising relevant tools
- Development of instructional materials and programs for ADF combatant scenarios
- Provide maintenance and configuration of simulation systems and C2 applications
- Ensure systems performance and upkeep is managed and supported on a daily basis and integration is seem-less
- Software development and programming for field simulation application
- Modify existing (COTS and GOTS) software packages which are used as part of a large training federate to meet operational requirements.
- Be responsible for the integration of simulation and C2 applications into the simulation core.
- Provide level 3+ support to operational simulation systems delivery.
Ideal experience:
- Some HTML/CSS/JavaScript experience.
- RedHat Linux
- ITIL V3/4
- Experience designing and implementing applications, or subsystems within them.
- Ability to tackle hard problems independently.
- Structured approach to milestones and progress demonstration.
- A focus on understanding and improving user experience.
- A working level understanding of ADF C2 systems.
- Ability to work to a deadline within an Agile environment.
- The ability to communicate and present ideas in a structured manner (written and oral).
- Experience with common simulation standards (DIS, HLA, TENA).
- Some knowledge of Defence training processes would be desirable.
- A minimum NV1 Security Clearance with an ability to upgrade to NV2.
- The ability to travel within Australia and overseas in support of training planning and execution activities.
A willingness to learn and grow is a key attitude.
You MUST have Australian Citizenship and the ability to gain a Defence security clearance.
