Human Resource Manager

Cleared is supporting a defence and space organisation in seeking a proactive and engaged HR Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of employment regulations and a commitment to fostering a supportive work environment. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone who is not only focused on administrative HR tasks but is also genuinely involved in the business and its operations.

For the right candidate, this position could serve as a stepping stone to a General Manager-type role, especially if you have a solid understanding of domain knowledge and technical business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review, update, and manage employment agreements to ensure compliance with changing regulations.
• Ensure that all staff understand and uphold conflict of interest obligations.
• Work closely with leadership and employees to provide support on HR matters, offering guidance and solutions as needed.
• Stay up to date with changing HR legislation and proactively implement necessary updates to policies and practices.
• Be an active participant in the business, not just an administrative function. Understand and engage with the operations of the business.
• Have the confidence to speak directly with employees when necessary to address concerns, resolve issues, or provide guidance.

Desired skills and experience

• Proven experience in HR, with a strong understanding of employment laws and regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage directly with employees at all levels.
• Strong leadership capabilities and the ability to guide and develop others.
• A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to stay ahead of changes in the HR landscape.
• Experience in supporting business operations and understanding technical business functions is a plus.
• Experience in a Defence environment is highly preferred.

Requirements:

• Australian Citizenship.
