Job Description

We're seeking a highly experienced Lead Assurance ICT Security Specialist to support a Defence program in Canberra. This role focuses on ICT security assurance within sensitive environments, including the design, deployment, and compliance of secure facilities and systems.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice on the deployment and administration of ICT systems within secure environments (T-SCIFs)
  • Identify vulnerabilities and contribute to system security planning and policy development
  • Review site plans and conduct inspections to ensure compliance with government security protocols (ISM, PSPF, ASHS, DSPF)
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies for secure facility deployment
  • Prepare SOPs including Item Movement Security Plans in consultation with stakeholders
  • Review and incorporate feedback from ICT Security Advisors and IRAP assessors to ensure compliance with ITSEC and COMSEC policies

Education/Certifications Required

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an IT-related discipline
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g. CISSP, CISM, CRISC) are highly regarded

Knowledge/Skills Required

  • Experience in ICT security assurance, vulnerability assessment, and compliance
  • Strong understanding of Australian Government security frameworks
  • Ability to conduct threat modelling using STRIDE, MITRE, or similar methodologies
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience preparing and reviewing technical documentation and SOPs
