About the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Cost Analyst. This is a critical role responsible for the end-to-end development of cost estimations, financial analysis, and commercial pricing activities in support of a major Defence acquisition.
Working closely with the Project Manager and Pricing Lead, the Lead Cost Analyst will play a key part in shaping the financial strategy of the project and delivering cost submissions to Government stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive, whole-of-life project cost estimates using the Capability Costing Tool and, where applicable, ACEIT software
- Conduct statistical modelling and simulation of cost and schedule risks
- Prepare financial business case documentation in support of Government committee processes
- Analyse tender responses from a financial perspective, including whole-of-life cost evaluation
- Support project execution planning with financial analysis and strategic funding advice
- Compile detailed basis of estimate documentation to accompany financial submissions
- Manage the cost proposal through internal and external review processes including Capability Costing Branch and Department of Finance
- Deliver written and verbal briefs to senior internal and external stakeholders
- Provide fast-turnaround cost modelling artefacts for various Committee stages
- Prepare status updates and briefing materials for project leadership
- Perform other commercial pricing or finance-related duties as directed by the Project Manager or Pricing Lead
Work Environment:
- The role is full-time and based in Russell Offices and Brindabella Park
- Minimum of 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday, with standard working hours between 8:30am - 4:00pm
Highly Desirable Criteria:
- Previous experience within theLand Domain in Defence acquisition
- Demonstrated ability to lead the development of complex cost models for Government submissions
- Experience in the financial evaluation of complex tenders and acquisition programs
- Familiarity with Defence financial systems, policies, and cost assurance frameworks
