Lead Digital Forensic Investigator - Cyber Operations

Location: Canberra, ACT - This is an on-site role which requires 5 days in office.
Type: 12-month contract with extension options
Clearance: NV1 required or above

Cleared Recruitment is partnering with a federal government team that protects Australia's international interests, diplomatic missions and global operations through world-class cyber security. We're seeking a Lead Digital Forensic Investigator to join their Cyber Operations capability. This is a hands-on, mission-critical role where you'll lead investigations, safeguard critical digital infrastructure and provide insights that directly support Australia's global engagements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and conduct digital forensic investigations across devices, systems, and cloud environments

• Collect and preserve digital evidence with strict chain of custody

• Analyse forensic findings and produce detailed, actionable reports

• Mentor colleagues and contribute to the development of team practices

• Manage and optimise forensic tools and processes

About You

• Minimum 3 years' experience in digital forensics, leading investigations

• Hands-on experience with tools such as Autopsy, FTK Suite, Cellebrite, Volatility, or Wireshark

• Strong technical writing skills and experience maintaining documentation

• Collaborative, proactive, and able to mentor and influence team members
