The Australian Geospatial Organisation (AGO) provides geospatial intelligence to support national security and defence operations. AGO delivers advanced capabilities across mapping, satellite imagery, and spatial analysis to enable informed decision-making at all levels of government.

The Role:
We're looking for a Network Engineer to support the DEF100 program and other AGO projects. The role is a mix of design and hands-on implementation. You'll develop network architectures, topologies, and configurations, produce documentation, and help plan and install upgrades. You'll work across multiple sub-projects, so flexibility and the ability to switch between tasks is key.

What You'll Do:

  • Design network architectures that meet business and operational requirements.

  • Create detailed design, configuration, and implementation documentation, and review integration challenges.

  • Diagnose and resolve issues across network systems and document trends.

  • Identify dependencies and work with stakeholders to coordinate solutions.

  • Guide and support teams to deliver work on schedule.

  • Build strong working relationships with developers, program teams, and stakeholders.

  • Track progress and report on project status.

What You Need:

  • Solid knowledge of network architecture and topologies.

  • Experience with modern networking technologies in secure or classified environments.

  • Practical experience in both designing and implementing networks.

  • Ability to work in a high-security environment with discretion.

Other Info:

  • Must be based on-site in Canberra; working from home isn't possible.

  • This role is at SFIA Level 5, meaning you'll take ownership of projects and guide others while contributing to improvements across the network.
