About the Role
Cleared is partnering with a leading technology solutions provider supporting Defence and government projects. This is a critical role for a Technology Specialist - Platform Engineer, responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining ICT infrastructure that underpins key Defence capabilities. You will serve as a technical interface for stakeholders and ensure secure, reliable, and scalable infrastructure operations.
Key Responsibilities:
System Design & Architecture: Design ICT infrastructure including servers, storage, and virtualized platforms with scalability, redundancy, and performance in mind.
Infrastructure Maintenance & Monitoring: Monitor servers, storage systems, and other critical components to ensure optimal operation and availability.
Server & Virtual Machine Management: Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers, applying updates and patches.
Documentation: Develop and maintain detailed infrastructure designs, specifications, processes, and diagrams.
Cloud Infrastructure Management: Provision and manage cloud-based resources, integrating them with on-premises systems.
Security Management: Maintain cyber security posture, including patching, monitoring, and supporting Essential 8 compliance improvements.
Platform Integration: Ensure compatibility across infrastructure platforms and integrate cloud services (AWS, Azure).
Automation & DevOps: Build CI environments, manage deployment pipelines, and automate infrastructure using scripting and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
Containerization: Use technologies like Kubernetes to streamline application deployment and scaling.
Governance & Compliance: Ensure infrastructure aligns with enterprise architectures, strategies, and governance frameworks.
About You
Australian citizen with a minimum AGSVA NV1 clearance (NV2 preferred).
Experience in Defence projects or highly secure ICT environments.
Bachelor's or higher qualification in ICT, Engineering, or related field.
Familiarity with ISM, DSPF, PSPF, WINTEL architecture, Windows deployment, VMware, and enterprise hardware.
Skilled in scripting (PowerShell), Windows SOE, SCCM, and configuration management.
