About the Opportunity

The Role

As a Principal Infrastructure & Cloud Specialist, you'll be responsible for designing, deploying, and optimising virtualised infrastructure and public/private cloud services, supporting both project delivery and ongoing operations. You will work closely with stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams, applying scripting and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/PowerShell) to streamline deployments and automation.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Planning & Delivery

• 
  Lead the planning, setup, and documentation of server hardware and private cloud environments.
• 
  Produce comprehensive build and deployment records, ensuring infrastructure is clearly captured for operational teams.
• 
  Maintain and update security documentation to align with organisational policies and compliance standards.

Cloud & Hybrid Integration

• 
  Develop and implement private cloud solutions, including hypervisor and platform configurations.
• 
  Automate deployment and configuration tasks using infrastructure-as-code tools and scripts.
• 
  Integrate on-premises infrastructure with public cloud services to create seamless hybrid environments.

Technical Design & Collaboration

• 
  Produce clear, actionable technical diagrams and architecture artefacts to guide implementation.
• 
  Work closely with architects, security teams, and stakeholders to ensure designs meet operational and security requirements.
• 
  Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and deployment practices through documentation and lessons learned.

Skills & Experience

• 
  NV1 clearance (minimum) - Australian Citizen.
• 
  5+ years' experience in infrastructure/cloud engineering.
• 
  Hands-on experience with Azure Cloud, Azure Local, VMware/VCF.
• 
  Advanced Microsoft stack knowledge: AD, Windows Server, SCCM, PowerShell.
• 
  Scripting/automation experience with Terraform or PowerShell.
• 
  Experience producing detailed design and security artefacts.
• 
  HPE server hardware experience highly regarded.
• 
  Exposure to hybrid cloud integration in secure environments.

Desirable Certifications

• 
  VMware, HPE, Terraform, Microsoft certifications.
• 
  Azure certifications highly valued.

Eligibility Requirements
