Contract Details
Start Date: November 2025 (negotiable)
Duration: Initial 12-month contract with 2 x 12-month extension options
Hours: Full-time
Location: Canberra Barton (on-site only)
Security Clearance: TSPV required
Rate: Negotiable based on experience
About Your New Role
We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Program Scheduler to join a dynamic Program Management Office supporting a large, complex government program in a secure environment. This is a role focused on driving project performance through integrated scheduling and strategic planning.
You'll work closely with project managers, technical teams, and senior stakeholders to deliver accurate, transparent scheduling data that supports informed decision-making and successful program delivery.
What You'll Be Doing
- Develop and manage detailed, integrated program schedules and dependencies
- Establish activity sequences, durations, and critical paths with project teams
- Monitor schedule progress, risks, and deviations; propose mitigation strategies
- Conduct schedule health checks and quality audits across projects
- Interface with internal stakeholders, subcontractors, and external partners
- Prepare schedule updates and dashboards for senior management
- Promote scheduling best practices and contribute to continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with key scheduling requirements under the DoF Gateway review process
- Support portfolio, program, and project management activities
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Project Management, or a related field
- Experience in program/project scheduling within large, complex environments
- Proficiency in scheduling tools such as MS Project, Primavera P6, ServiceNow, or equivalents
- Strong understanding of P3M, MSP, PRINCE2, Agile, or similar frameworks
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications in P3M, MSP, PRINCE2, or equivalent
- Experience in Agile or hybrid delivery environments
