RF Engineer

Cleared is supporting a range of SMEs in the Defence, Government and Critical Infrastructure sectors across Australia and is currently seeking experienced RF Engineers with low-frequency design capability to enhance, configure and deploy specialsied communications and SATCOM systems for Air Traffic Surveillance and control. Based in Canberra, ACT on a full-time basis, this role offers unique growth opportunity and project influence.

This is an amazing opportunity to work on state-of-the-art RF systems being developed to enhance air traffic management systems from space for surveillance and communications over remote and oceanic regions. You will be responsible for providing advice on all engineering requirements of the capabilities, ensuring that risks and issues are flagged and dealt with.

The successful candidate will require a strong working knowledge of RF / Communication systems within a safety critical environment as well as a strong background in the use of Altium.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop RF / Communication systems and equipment including testing, integration, installing and managing the systems and equipment
• Derive system requirements, define the test requirements and participate in system design and system requirements reviews
• Foster a working environment that is focused on meeting the requirements of customers, both external and internal
• Perform the integration and validation of complex system designs
• Review documentation including acceptance test plans, procedures and reports
• Guide the projects through configuration and system acceptance audits

Skills & Experience required:

• Tertiary Qualifications in Communications Systems Engineering
• Proven experience working as a communication engineer within a safety critical environment
• Proven experience with verification and validation of communication systems
• Experience with VHF voice & data and Surveillance services using ADS-B and UAT
• Proven experience with the use of Altium
• Excellent communications skills
• Meet ITAR compliancy
