Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to join a critical program focused on transforming a secure corporate ICT environment. This role is ideal for candidates with deep Azure experience and a strong understanding of hybrid cloud infrastructure and security. You will work in a hands-on capacity, enhancing cloud environments, implementing best practice infrastructure, and ensuring performance and availability in a secure Defence context.


Duties and Responsibilities


  • Build, maintain, and enhance secure Microsoft Azure environments

  • Deploy and manage Azure resources including virtual machines, storage, networking, and monitoring

  • Implement security and high availability measures across cloud workloads

  • Evaluate capacity and performance requirements to scale infrastructure effectively

  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues across cloud and on-premises environments

  • Automate infrastructure deployment using tools such as PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Bicep

  • Integrate infrastructure into DevOps pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code workflows

  • Maintain clear and comprehensive technical documentation


Education/Certifications Required


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (desirable)


Knowledge/Skills Required


  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Azure administration within complex environments

  • Experience with Azure Landing Zones, Backup/Restore, and Recovery strategies

  • Strong knowledge of AD, Azure AD, LDAP, DNS, DHCP, Kerberos, and authentication protocols

  • Understanding of DevOps concepts and Infrastructure as Code practices

  • Experience with network routing, switching, and firewalls

  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting security, connectivity, and performance issues

  • Proficiency with automation and scripting (PowerShell, Azure CLI, Bicep)

  • Strong documentation and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently within secure and regulated environments
