  Job Description

  
  The Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) is seeking multiple Senior Infrastructure Engineers (EL1 equivalent) to support the implementation, management and retirement of complex ICT infrastructure across physical, virtual, networking and cloud environments. These roles contribute directly to ASD's mission by ensuring secure, reliable and resilient ICT capability that underpins intelligence, cyber security and operational outcomes.
  Successful candidates will join a merit pool used to fill current and future vacancies across ASD business areas.

  Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage allocated resources, set work priorities and oversee workflows to ensure timely, high?quality outcomes
• Lead installation and de?installation projects, providing technical direction and effective stakeholder engagement
• Develop and implement policies, strategies and continuous improvement initiatives for ICT systems administration
• Apply deep technical knowledge to meet capability needs across hardware, software and Defence?specific environments
• Support change management, customer service and conflict resolution to maintain continuity of ICT operations
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver solutions for non?routine or contingency requirements
• Resolve unpredictable issues using established operating procedures and sound judgement
• Evaluate projects, identify critical success factors and engage technical specialists to uplift capability

  Education/Certifications Required

• Diploma or Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or related field
• Proficiency across operating systems, networking, database management and security protocols
• Relevant industry certifications (highly regarded):
  - VMware, Red Hat, Microsoft, AWS/Azure
  - ITIL, networking or cyber security certifications

  Knowledge/Skills Required

• Demonstrated experience designing, installing and de?installing large or complex ICT systems
• Strong capability in analysing and reporting on availability, reliability, maintainability and serviceability
• Experience developing, maintaining and testing issue resolution and disaster recovery plans
• Proficiency in root cause analysis and implementing mitigation or resolution strategies
• Ability to operate within high?assurance, security?mature environments
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and documentation skills
