Senior Security Sys Admin Infrastructure Engineer - TSPV

Clearance: Active TSPV Security Clearance required
Contract: 12 months + 2 x 12-month extensions
Working Arrangements: Onsite
Hours: Up to 40 hours per week

About the Role

ASD is seeking an experienced Senior Security Systems Administrator to develop and enhance ICT Security capabilities comprising COTS, GOTS, and in-house products. This senior role involves engineering activities across requirements development, system definition, design, integration, verification, and validation.

You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining ICT Security capabilities, which may include SIEM, SOAR, Vulnerability Management, Data Pipelines, CDS, On-premise Infrastructure, Cloud, and Storage solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute systems engineering tasks for the design, development, deployment, and sustainment of security capabilities.
• Develop and maintain complex ICT Security capabilities using COTS, GOTS, and in-house products.
• Lead implementation and maintenance of Windows and Linux-based systems.
• Manage Storage Area Network (SAN) appliances, physical/virtual server infrastructure, and desktops.
• Implement ICT Security capabilities such as SIEM, SOAR, Vulnerability Management, and Asset Discovery.
• Ensure system reliability through configuration, backups, and data restoration, including automation scripting.
• Monitor network performance and respond to operational issues using network management tools.
• Provide technical expertise and maintain accurate technical documentation.

Requirements

• Australian Citizenship (mandatory).
• Active TSPV Security Clearance (ASD will not sponsor upgrades).
• Willingness to undergo ASD's Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA).
• Senior-level experience (EL1 equivalent) in ICT Security Systems Administration.

Criteria

• Proven experience administering and integrating ICT Security capabilities, including SIEM, SOAR, Cross Domain Solutions (CDS), Vulnerability Management, Data Pipelines, on-premise infrastructure, cloud environments, and storage systems.
• Proven knowledge of security principles.
• Proven experience leading a technical team.
