This is a pivotal technical leadership role within a Defence-aligned Operations and Delivery team, supporting complex, mission-critical systems.
You will join an established international IT solutions organisation known for delivering high-impact software solutions and for genuinely valuing its people and long-term careers.
The role is Canberra-based (on-site) and requires Australian Citizenship with the ability to hold and maintain an NV1 Security Clearance.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Solution Architect to join a Canberra-based team delivering end-to-end technical solutions across complex Defence environments.
Reporting to a Design Authority / Lead Architect, you will be responsible for the successful design, implementation, integration, and evolution of large-scale C4I and mission systems, ensuring alignment with customer strategic and operational needs.
This role combines hands-on architecture, customer engagement, and technical leadership across delivery, pre-sales, and capability development activities.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  Provide best-practice architectural advice for the design and deployment of complex C4I systems
• 
  Work closely with customers and Defence industry partners to shape solution outcomes
• 
  Translate customer strategies into clear business and technical requirements
• 
  Contribute to capability roadmaps, product direction, and early feature evaluation
• 
  Communicate the impact of system changes and new capabilities to stakeholders
• 
  Design and present solution concepts using clear, graphical and architectural artefacts
• 
  Facilitate technical workshops with customers and internal teams
• 
  Guide and mentor others in solving complex technical problems, considering multiple perspectives
• 
  Support pre-sales and post-sales activities, including technical advice and solution assurance
• 
  Contribute to technical proposal writing and estimation activities

Skills & Experience

• 
  Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (Master's degree highly regarded)
• 
  Strong knowledge of enterprise, systems, integration, and security architecture principles
• 
  Familiarity with architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, DoDAF, or AUSDAF (highly regarded)
• 
  Experience with military or mission systems, command information systems, or Defence ICT environments
• 
  Broad technical knowledge across integration, cloud, user experience, and business process design
• 
  Proven experience applying technology solutions to complex customer problems
• 
  Strong stakeholder management skills across customers, technical teams, and internal leadership
• 
  Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Security Requirements

To work within a Defence-aligned program, you must hold (or be eligible to obtain and maintain) an NV1 Security Clearance.
Australian Citizenship is mandatory.
