Job Description
ASD is seeking highly skilled Senior System Administrators to join our team. We are building a merit pool for future opportunities, and these positions will require applicants who hold a current NV1, NV2, or TSPV security clearance. The role requires technical expertise in managing system administrative support activities in a fast-paced and complex environment, where you'll be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of a range of systems and technologies. Successful candidates will demonstrate leadership in systems administration, from installation through to maintenance and optimisation, and collaborate effectively with integrated teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the installation, configuration, and maintenance of multiple systems and platforms.
- Utilise automation tools for system builds and continuous configuration management.
- Provide ongoing hardware and operating system support while ensuring the stability of all systems.
- Uplift and mentor other team members, helping them to improve capabilities and knowledge.
- Engage in agile processes, prioritising and allocating tasks across an integrated team, contributing to design reviews, and stakeholder meetings.
- Collaborate with software developers to continuously enhance processes and procedures.
- Navigate complex business environments with limited direction, engaging a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain system documentation in line with ASD's standards and policies.
- Communicate technical solutions and business processes clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Education/Certifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience in systems administration.
- Proficiency in networking, operating systems, database management, and security protocols is essential.
- Advanced skills in installing, repairing, and maintaining network systems.
- Familiarity with various programming languages is highly beneficial.
Knowledge/Skills Required
- Strong technical expertise in system installation, maintenance, and optimisation.
- Knowledge of systems integration and build processes, including testing and configuration management.
- Experience with system software provisioning and configuration to meet service objectives.
- Ability to work effectively within dynamic and complex environments with limited direction.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the capacity to provide innovative solutions.
- Ability to manage and mentor teams, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
