Service Desk Analyst

Service Desk Analyst | Department of Defence | Canberra

We are seeking a TSPV Service Desk Analyst to support critical infrastructure for a federal government department within the intelligence community.

This is a 12-month contract with potential for two 12-month extensions. You will be responsible for deploying, configuring, and maintaining desktop hardware and software, imaging systems, and cryptographic devices.

Contract Length: Initial 12 months + 2 x 12-month extension options
Estimated Start: 1 July 2025
Location: Canberra - Onsite only (WFH not available)
Security Clearance: Must hold a TSPV if you do not hold this clearance, you will not be eligible.
Citizenship: Australian citizens only
Level: APS5 equivalent
Hours: Up to 40 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

• 
  Install, remove, and maintain desktop hardware and software
• 
  Update configuration management records for asset tracking
• 
  Troubleshoot and resolve user issues across desktop platforms
• 
  Liaise with users regarding outages and system disruptions
• 
  Manage the safe handover and deployment of IT equipment
• 
  Share knowledge and support junior team members

Technical Skills:

• 
  Build and maintain Windows 10 desktop images
• 
  Edit and update HTML pages within Windows images
• 
  Configure desktop devices and prepare two-factor authentication
• 
  Maintain and patch Windows environments
• 
  Manage cryptographic inline network encryptors
• 
  Clearly articulate product-related technical aspects to stakeholders

Essential Criteria:

• 
  Proven ability to install, configure, and maintain desktop and infrastructure components
• 
  Experience with performance monitoring, issue resolution, and documentation
• 
  Familiarity with diagnostic tools, escalation procedures, and user support
• 
  Ability to contribute to improving installation standards and operational processes

Desirable Criteria:

• 
  Experience with security technologies from Palo Alto, Cisco, Microsoft, Dell, Thales, and NetApp
• 
  Ability to conduct agreed hardware maintenance tasks
