Cleared is supporting a Federal Government agency seeking experienced Software Developers to join a high-performing Analytic Platforms and Products (APP) team.
The successful candidate will contribute to the design, development, and delivery of high-quality software solutions that support mission-critical capabilities including data capture, analytics, search, monitoring, alerting, and data visualisation.
This role requires a strong foundation in software engineering, disciplined development practices, and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. All development activities must comply with organisational coding standards, security policies, and relevant industry best-practice frameworks.

Mandatory requirements

  • Professional Experience: Minimum 5 years of full-stack development experience in a government environment, including deployment to high-security networks.
  • SFIA Responsibility Level: Proven capability at SFIA Level 3-5 (Programming - PROG) with demonstrable outcomes at the appropriate level.



Required Knowledge/Experience and tools

  • Coding Skills: Experience in one or more languages/frameworks, e.g., C#, FastAPI, React, Python.
  • Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC): Skilled in requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Version Control & Collaboration: Knowledge of branching strategies, pull-request workflows, and code-review etiquette.
  • Testing Practices: Experience with unit, integration, and automated testing frameworks appropriate to the technology stack.
  • Security Fundamentals: Familiarity with secure coding guidelines, threat modelling, and vulnerability mitigation.
  • Team Dynamics: Ability to work effectively in a diverse, multidisciplinary team and mentor junior developers when required.



Key Responsibilities

  • Design & Development: Design, develop, and unit-test new features and enhancements using supported languages and frameworks, including C#, Python, FastAPI, and React.
  • Maintenance & Refactoring: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve defects in existing applications; refactor legacy code to improve readability, performance, and security.
  • Documentation: Produce clear technical documentation, including API specifications and user guides, to support knowledge transfer and future maintenance.
  • Version Control & CI/CD: Manage source code repositories (e.g., GitLab, BitBucket), maintain branching strategies, and contribute to automated build, test, and deployment pipelines.
  • Code Review & Mentoring: Participate in peer code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support junior team members in adopting software engineering best practices.
  • Security & Compliance: Apply secure coding principles, perform threat analyses, and ensure all deliverables comply with organisational security standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with data analysts, product owners, and data engineers to deliver high-value technical solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimisation, tooling upgrades, and adoption of emerging technologies
