Cleared Recruitment are supporting a privately owned Australian company who are looking to engage Software Engineers with Baseline clearance or above. This is a permanent opportunity or contract opportunity and is based in Adelaide. You will be working on a variety of impactful and exciting projects that includes developing interactive and real-time modelling and simulation applications.

Skills and Experience
Essential


  • Experience with at least one backend language such as C++, Python, or C#

  • Working knowledge of containerisation technologies such as Docker (and basic container workflows)

  • Understanding of software engineering fundamentals including debugging, testing, and version control

  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a team environment

Desirable


  • Exposure to modelling and simulation, real-time systems, or defence projects

  • Familiarity with Windows or Linux native development

  • Experience working in Agile environments and with tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Git

A motivated Software Engineer to work as a valued member of our multi-skilled teams alongside Defence researchers. You are a team player who enjoys getting hands-on solving technically challenging problems across a variety of domains, including aerospace systems, combat and mission systems, electronic warfare, and robotics.
Our teams work on projects developing next-generation Defence capability, applying core principles of software engineering, physics, mathematics, and statistics, and following best-practice development methodologies.

What you will do
Participate in crafting and advancing systems integral to shaping the future defence capabilities.

Collaborate with clients and team members to analyse and discern requirements for development initiatives or workflow enhancements.

Advocate for software best practices, including Agile development and testing methodologies; actively encourage and engage in collaboration throughout all stages of the system development life cycle.

Take charge of project advancement and convey project status updates to the team lead, partners, and clients.

Provide proactive mentoring to nurture the growth of junior engineers in their development endeavours.
