About the Role
The V&V Governance Lead is responsible for overseeing Verification & Validation and Test & Evaluation (T&E) governance across complex Defence systems and enterprise integration platforms. Working closely with engineering, architecture, and delivery teams, you will ensure that testing practices, quality assurance, and compliance outcomes are consistently applied and aligned with Defence frameworks. This role provides leadership to a multi-disciplinary Commonwealth test team and ensures system integration and API management capabilities are validated effectively and securely.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead a Commonwealth multi-skilled test team delivering an enterprise API Management (APIM) capability across Defence systems and environments.
• Provide T&E oversight, governance, and alignment with Defence architectural, security, and technical standards.
• Translate high-level program objectives into actionable test plans incorporating risk, issue, and dependency management.
• Manage day-to-day testing resources and ensure consistent quality standards throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Act as the primary interface between the test team and engineering teams, providing technical guidance and clarifying test scope, dependencies, and acceptance criteria.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute design verification, system testing, integration testing, and acceptance testing activities.
• Apply appropriate V&V and T&E methodologies, metrics, and measures throughout the test program.

About You

• Experience with Apache NiFi or similar enterprise integration/orchestration platforms.
• Minimum 3 years leading application or system test teams, ideally within API platforms and automated testing environments.
• Demonstrated experience with automation frameworks and integration testing approaches.
• Experience working within complex ICT programs with multiple stakeholders and interdependent systems.
• Demonstrated capability in reviewing, endorsing, and developing T&E documentation in complex ICT environments.
• Proven ability to apply governance frameworks and ensure compliance with Defence policies and standards.
• Experience designing and implementing test strategies aligned with program objectives and technical requirements.
• Strong documentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively to both technical and executive stakeholders.
• Certifications such as ISTQB, ISEB, or relevant Defence T&E training.
• Proficiency with common test management tools (e.g., HP ALM, JIRA, Zephyr) and Defence documentation platforms.

Must be an Australian Citizen with a current or reinstatable Baseline or above level clearance.
