Job Description
We are seeking a VMware Engineer or Consultant with deep expertise in VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) to design, implement, and optimise virtualised infrastructure within secure Defence environments. The role involves hands-on engineering, solution architecture, and client engagement to deliver robust VCF platforms aligned with strategic program requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

• 
  Design and deploy VCF-based infrastructure across secure environments
• 
  Configure and manage vSphere, NSX-T, vSAN, and SDDC Manager components
• 
  Lead integration of VCF with existing Defence systems and cloud platforms
• 
  Perform health checks, upgrades, and lifecycle management of VCF stacks
• 
  Develop technical documentation, implementation guides, and SOPs
• 
  Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support delivery and sustainment
• 
  Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers
• 
  Ensure compliance with ASD ISM and Defence ICT standards

Education/Certifications Required

• 
  Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
• 
  VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) highly desirable
• 
  ITIL or TOGAF certification advantageous

Knowledge/Skills Required

• 
  Proven experience delivering and managing VMware Cloud Foundation environments
• 
  Strong understanding of virtualisation, networking, and storage architecture
• 
  Hands-on expertise with vSphere, NSX-T, vSAN, and SDDC Manager
• 
  Familiarity with automation tools (PowerCLI, Ansible, Terraform)
• 
  Experience working within Defence or secure government environments
• 
  Excellent documentation and stakeholder communication skills
