  • 5 days per week, up to 40 hours

    Job Description


    The Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) is seeking an experienced Cloud Solutions Architect to support the TOP SECRET (TS) Cloud Program-an unprecedented initiative delivering hyperscale cloud capability to the National Intelligence Community (NIC). This program will uplift operating efficiency, strengthen security, and modernise cloud capability across multiple agencies.
    The Cloud Solutions Architect will design, develop and implement secure, scalable and reliable cloud solutions that meet the specific needs of ASD and the NIC. The role requires deep technical expertise, strong architectural leadership, and the ability to translate complex requirements into actionable, secure cloud designs.

    Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop capability roadmaps, models and plans to advance the TS Cloud strategy
  • Manage design, policies and standards to maintain a stable, viable and consistent architecture
  • Identify system, infrastructure and project interdependencies and balance competing demands
  • Document, track and resolve issues arising during capability development
  • Inform stakeholders of risks, constraints or issues with current technical solutions
  • Provide detailed specifications for proposed solutions and assess business impacts
  • Monitor emerging cloud technologies and assess applicability to ASD and NIC environments
  • Engage with industry and research emerging technologies to recommend improvements
  • Lead design socialisation, governance and approval processes across multiple teams

    Education/Certifications Required

  • Experience/certifications with AWS and Microsoft Azure
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working in a NIC agency
  • Strong background in cloud system design
  • Relevant industry certifications (AWS, Azure, security) highly regarded

    Knowledge/Skills Required

  • Demonstrated experience designing and delivering secure cloud solutions
  • Ability to translate high?level business requirements into patterns, principles and working designs
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing technologies and architectural best practice
  • Experience making decisions on critical system components and architectural direction
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain complex issues to senior management
  • Ability to work across multiple teams and contribute to governance and planning processes
