Job Description
The DISP Cyber Security Engagement Lead holds senior oversight of a multi-skilled cyber security team delivering assurance, compliance and advisory services across DISP. You will lead cyber strategy, foster capability uplift, and ensure all services align with Defence security frameworks including PSPF, DSPF, ISM and ASD/ACSC directives. This role also carries responsibility for contract management and supporting the growth of above-the-line cyber security supply chain assurance offerings.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and operational leadership for a major cyber security consultancy and assurance services practice.
  • Oversee quality, appropriateness and measurable business outcomes across cyber security deliverables.
  • Lead monitoring and review of cyber portfolios to ensure strategic benefits and effective governance.
  • Deliver strategic cyber advice, subject matter expertise and input into program design, implementation and change planning.
  • Lead and inspire teams in alignment with DISP obligations, operating at a senior organisational level.
  • Support planning and implementation of organisational structure, capability uplift and cultural change.
  • Represent cyber capability at the highest level and lead organisational improvement initiatives.
  • Manage formal contracts, negotiations and strategic supplier/client engagements.
  • Provide workforce planning to meet client and organisational needs.
  • Maintain awareness of cyber security trends, industry developments and emerging technologies.
  • Build industry reputation and provide assurance to Defence, Australian Government and international government stakeholders.

Knowledge/Skills Required

  • Extensive senior leadership experience in cyber security consulting.
  • Expertise in portfolio, program and project management.
  • Strong background in contract management within Australian Government environments.
  • Proven experience delivering cyber strategy, governance and high-level executive decision-making.
  • Deep understanding of ACSC Essential Eight, NIST 800-171, ISO 27001, UK Def Stan 05-138, ISM, DSPF and DISP.
  • Strong organisational change leadership capability.
  • Highly developed stakeholder engagement, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated success in revenue growth, business strategy and service development.
  • Ability to make informed decisions using business metrics.
