You will be supporting Defence stakeholders in progressing security assessment and authorisation activities to achieve accreditation outcomes for applications being deployed into the Defence environment.
Job Description
We are seeking a senior specialist with strong Defence experience and deep knowledge of Governance, Risk and Compliance processes. The role requires demonstrated capability in guiding project teams through Defence security processes to achieve timely accreditation outcomes. You will contribute to the development, review and management of security documentation, liaise with technical subject matter experts and ensure alignment with the Defence Cyber Security Assessment and Authorisation Framework.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Guide and lead teams through Defence processes to achieve accreditation outcomes, including planning, progress tracking and issue remediation.
- Work autonomously and collaboratively as required to deliver security outcomes.
- Develop and review security assessment and authorisation artefacts in accordance with the Defence Cyber Security Assessment and Authorisation Framework.
- Engage with subject matter experts to extract technical information and translate it into required artefacts.
- Apply professional judgement to prioritise and coordinate competing demands for efficient outcomes.
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills across technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of assessment and authorisation processes.
- Provide specialist advice where relevant, including as a DCIAB Endorsed Security Assessor if applicable.
Education/Certifications required
- DCIAB Endorsed Security Assessor certification (highly desirable).
Knowledge/Skills required
- Senior-level Defence experience.
- Strong understanding of the Defence Cyber Security Assessment and Authorisation Framework.
- Demonstrated experience guiding teams and leading activities to achieve accreditation outcomes.
- Experience developing and reviewing security assessment and authorisation artefacts.
- Ability to interpret technical information and convert it into structured accreditation documentation.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Continuous improvement mindset.
