Our team at Cleared are constantly on the lookout for professionals across a range of skillsets for our specialised Defence clients and currently have an opportunity for a HR/WHS officer/specialist to join one of our key SMEs providing specialised military communication power systems to the ADF and overseas. The role has the option for part-time for either HR or WHS function or permanent full-time for both roles combined.
Those with experience in HR policy, WHS for manufacturing environments with Australian Citizenship are encouraged to apply.

Role: HR/WHS Officer

Permanent part-time for either or permanent full-time for combined.

Responsibilites:

HR management and Administration:

  • Assist with recruitment administration including internal and external advertising, scheduling interviews and liaising with line managers / applicants
  • Coordinate and conduct (as required) on-boarding and off-boarding processes for employees
  • Co-ordinate processes, documents and records for employee movements and changes including updating organisational charts
  • Assist with tracking completion of activities such as induction programs and probation reviews, and undertaking administration related to cyclical people activities such performance reviews and compliance training
  • Assist with employment contracts, variation letters, induction packs, and other HR documents and correspondence as required
  • Assist with organisational performance and salary reviews.
  • Other day-to-day ad hoc HR administration, coordination and support as required

WHS Management and Administration:

Assist and support the HR Manager to eliminate and/or minimise WHS risks, develop the WHS strategy, create a positive WHS culture and continuously improve WHS performance and compliance.

  • Take ownership of all WHS administrative tasks necessary to achieve smooth operation of the WHS function.
  • Advise and assist in the development of WHS policies, updating forms and work instructions
  • Improve overall hazard inspection and internal audit processes on WHS hazards and risks
  • Manage WHS Committee meetings, minute taking and follow-up on WHS action items
  • Prepare WHS reports as required by management
  • Prepare and complete Risk Assessments and Hazard Reviews as required
  • Assist with injury or accident investigations
  • Complete Workplace Inspections
  • Provide information to the Production Manager/Supervisor for toolbox meetings
  • Work alongside the HR Manager to manage any return-to-work cases
  • In collaboration with the HR Manager, develop, facilitate, and deliver WHS training to build capability and knowledge
  • Promote a culture of risk identification, incident, near miss and improvement opportunity reporting

Other:

  • Personally contribute to the development and maintenance of a high professional standard of WHS and HR practices
  • Comply with the Business Management System at all times

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Currently studying or completed degree in HR Management or equivalent tertiary certification
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in WHS and HR Administration
  • Sound knowledge of WHS and HR practices and legislation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
  • Highly competent with Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel & Powerpoint)
  • Australia citizen and ITAR compliant

Desirable:

  • Diploma (or CERT IV) in Work Health & Safety
  • Experience in a manufacturing business environment
  • Previous experience with ERP systems and Employment Hero
  • First Aid/Warden Certifications
