Are you ready to lead cybersecurity efforts for one of Australia's most critical defence projects? We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Security Manager to oversee all IT and cyber security requirements for an exciting project within Defence. Role and Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing comprehensive IT security policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Leading and managing IT security operations, including incident response, threat detection, vulnerability management, and security awareness training.
  • Conducting regular security risk assessments and audits to identify potential vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate security controls into IT systems and infrastructure designs.
  • Providing expert guidance and support to project teams on security-related matters, ensuring that security considerations are incorporated throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitoring emerging threats and trends in cybersecurity to proactively adapt security measures and mitigate potential risks.


Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in a senior IT security role, with a strong background in developing and implementing IT security strategies and initiatives.
  • In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, technologies, and methodologies, including threat intelligence, encryption, access control, and identity management.
  • Extensive experience with security frameworks and standards, such as ISO 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM).
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Relevant certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA, are highly desirable.
