Job Description

The agency is seeking multiple Lead ICT Security Specialists (EL1 equivalent) to drive the development, implementation, and management of secure digital systems and infrastructure. These specialists will lead technical assessments, advise on security policy, and coordinate risk management activities across highly sensitive and complex environments.


Duties and Responsibilities

As a Lead ICT Security Specialist, you will:

  • Manage resources, set team priorities, and oversee workflows to meet deadlines and quality benchmarks

  • Share expertise with colleagues and mentor junior staff

  • Lead strategy development and evaluate outcomes to improve ICT security operations

  • Deliver risk assessments, business impact analyses, and assurance activities for digital systems

  • Provide guidance on complex security risks and recommend mitigation strategies

  • Maintain current knowledge of emerging threats and apply security risk analysis

  • Communicate complex security matters to senior stakeholders and peers

  • Collaborate with internal and external technical stakeholders on policy development

  • Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of current risk mitigation strategies

  • Investigate and resolve security incidents and recommend improvements to policy or processes

  • Interpret security policy and contribute to standards and operational guidelines


Education / Certifications Required

  • IRAP Assessor certification (Infosec Registered Assessors Program)

  • Desirable: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a related discipline


Knowledge / Skills Required

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in ICT security across architecture, operations, or risk domains

  • Strong working knowledge of Essential Eight, ISM, and PSPF frameworks

  • Demonstrated experience in security risk management and analysis

  • Ability to develop, manage, and implement security SOPs and accreditation frameworks

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills

  • Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholder groups and build effective relationships

  • Strong understanding of secure system design across physical, network, and cloud platforms
