Mechanical Engineer

Are you a Mechanical Engineer with direct experience with production and design for manufacturing? We currently have a contract opportunity running through till June. In this role you will work with an industry leader on the design, manufacture and production of cutting edge mechanical systems being developed to direct enhance capability across Defence.

You will be responsible for the design of mechanical systems from initial concept through to prototype and production.

This role is in the Defence domain but doesn't require you to hold a current security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of all relevant documents
• Design Mechanical systems from initial concept through to production
• Support design reviews, engineering change requests and compliance documentation
• Apply LEAN practices to improve plant efficiency
• Design custom injection mould tools
• Assist the Production team with test equipment, maintenance and technical support.
• Assist the Quality team with product fault diagnosis and repair.
• Assist the Engineering team with verification and validation test activities.

Required skills

• Must have a Mechanical engineering degree qualification with a strong understanding of design.
• Experience working within a production environment
• Experience with Solidworks
• Experience with 3D CAD models, 2D Drawings and BOM's

Due to the nature of this project candidates will be required to meet international traffic and arms regulations and must hold Australian Citizenship and be eligible for an AGSVA clearance
