About the Role

The agency is seeking multiple Senior ICT Security Specialists to support the secure operation of classified ICT systems and contribute to the development of future-ready cyber capabilities. These positions are at an APS6-equivalent level within a high-performance technical team responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of secure ICT infrastructure.


Duties and Responsibilities

As a Senior ICT Security Specialist, you will:

  • Conduct ICT security risk assessments and provide technical and procedural security guidance

  • Identify and manage information security breaches in line with agency policies

  • Offer expert advice on ICT security features across both agency-approved and industry-standard products

  • Explain complex security issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Assist in the development of cyber security policy, standards, and frameworks

  • Investigate and resolve security incidents, recommending preventative measures

  • Lead compliance activities and governance related to ICT security operations

  • Communicate clear direction and support collaboration within technical teams

  • Engage in secure infrastructure design across physical, virtual, and cloud environments


Education / Certifications Required

  • IRAP Assessor certification (Infosec Registered Assessors Program) is highly desirable

  • Tertiary qualifications in Cyber Security, Information Security, ICT, or a related discipline are beneficial


Knowledge / Skills Required

  • Strong understanding of Essential Eight, ISM, and PSPF frameworks

  • Experience developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

  • Ability to simplify and communicate complex technical systems to diverse stakeholders

  • Demonstrated analytical skills and the ability to respond to security incidents

  • Proven relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders

  • Experience in secure system architecture across physical, virtual, and cloud environments

  • Strong written and verbal communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
