Network Administrator - Tech Support Engineer - NV1 - Newcastle

Cleared are currently supporting a major Engineering and technology consulting services provider, who are looking for a NV1 Network Administrator - Technical Support Engineer based at RAAF Williamtown (WLM) Newcastle.

The opportunity is for an experienced Windows Domain administrator and Network Technician to undertake support of the Distributed Training Centre as part of the Defence simulation synthetic capability in Air Warfare Centre.

Working as part of an integrated Team you will work alongside another Network Technician, with direction from the Network Engineer, to deliver Capability to Defence.

This is a 20-month Contract & likely to extend!

Roles and responsibilities:

The role will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Desktop troubleshooting (including Windows 11, M365).
• Provide technical support and assist in the development and integration of the DTC into other ADF / coalition platforms; and
• Maintain configuration management of the DTC documentation to support.
• efficient and effective support to synthetic training
• open tender for a future support model.
• Active participation in exercise planning conferences.

Additional criteria

• Simulation software/network technical support
• Configuration control/support.
• Documentation and maintenance of configuration status (baselining documentation with system configuration);
• Obsolescence management, ensuring issues are identified and resolved in a timely manner.
• Collaborate as a small team to manage technical maintenance, including upgrades and updates, to ensure minimum disruption to day-to day-operational use.
• The provision of system administration support.
• The provision of system integration and implementation support.
• Provision of technical SME engagement with all relevant stakeholders; and
• Facilitate system development.
• Execute the system administrator's duties.

• Provide efficient and effective engineering / technical support to synthetic and blended exercises such as Coalition Virtual Guardian.
• Support system availability for up to twelve hours daily for twelve consecutive days.
• Baseline the system prior to each exercise.
• Test any system/software release(s) as required to meet exercise timeframes.
• Create and maintain Fault Logs for each exercise.
• Manage the resolution of any technical issues during or after the exercise; and
• Update any subsequent DTC system documentation releases.

Applicants must already have AGSVA NV1 Security Clearance . No Permanent resident (PR's) can apply for the role, each candidate must be Australia Citizens
