Project Manager

This is a contract position, starting ASAP, with remote work offered. Occasional travel to Canberra and Wagga Wagga will be required to support project activities.

What You'll Do
As a Project Manager, you will lead the successful execution and delivery of technology projects supporting a complex SATCOM sustainment program. Your role will involve:

• Leading project planning activities, meetings, and stakeholder consultations.
• Monitoring project progress and reporting against key milestones.
• Maintaining comprehensive project documentation including minutes, action logs, risk registers, and decision logs.
• Coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams to achieve project objectives.
• Managing project risks and issues, ensuring timely escalation and resolution.
• Providing ad-hoc support to ensure successful delivery within scope, schedule, and budget.

What You'll Need

• 5+ years of Project Management experience within the Defence industry.
• Proven experience managing satellite communication or Defence technology projects.
• Strong leadership skills to guide and motivate teams, including leading without authority and fostering collaboration.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and organisational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical delivery within schedule and budget constraints.
• Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Agile) preferred.
• Experience delivering projects within the Defence Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG).
• Active NV1 Security Clearance.
• Ability to meet International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements.

What Will Help You Succeed

• Broad technical understanding of satellite telecommunications systems, infrastructure, and technologies.
• Knowledge of service management principles and frameworks, including incident, change, and problem management.
• Background in Operations, Contract, Facility, and/or Logistics Management.
