About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Level 3 Program Risk Manager to lead the Phase 3 Risk Framework and Risk Register for the SSN-AUKUS program. This role ensures that risks across the program are effectively identified, assessed, escalated, and monitored, providing senior leadership with actionable insights to support critical decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and update the Phase 3 Risk Management Plan, ensuring alignment with program objectives, Defence policies, governance frameworks, and trilateral requirements
  • Establish and implement program-level risk management processes and workflows across divisions
  • Provide expert risk input into the Project Execution Strategy and ensure integration with program dependencies
  • Support project teams in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across program, technical, schedule, commercial, and engineering domains
  • Lead and facilitate risk workshops, deep-dive sessions, and stakeholder engagement activities
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, industry partners, and trilateral government partners to maintain consistent understanding of risk exposure and interdependencies
  • Contribute to governance forums with authoritative risk insights and recommendations
  • Maintain risk data within ASA-authorised systems, ensuring accuracy and integrity
  • Deliver high-quality program-level risk reporting for technical and executive audiences
  • Mentor APS and ADF personnel to build divisional risk management capability
  • Provide ad hoc risk management support as required

Selection Criteria / Core Skills & Experience

  • Experience in complex, large-scale programs: Demonstrated experience managing risks on major capital or defence programs
  • Advanced risk management expertise: Proven ability to develop frameworks, embed risk practices, and lead program-level risk activities
  • Stakeholder engagement and influence: Ability to collaborate effectively with senior leadership, internal teams, industry, and multi-national partners
  • Analytical and communication skills: Ability to produce clear, actionable risk insights and reporting for both technical and executive audiences
