A leading Australian organisation, proudly veteran‑owned, is seeking a technically minded Sales Professional to support and grow its footprint across the Defence and government technology sectors. The company provides advanced test and measurement solutions used by engineers, technicians, program managers, and procurement teams working on critical national programs.
This is a national, customer‑facing role with high autonomy, hybrid working conditions, and regular travel-including to Canberra-plus occasional international trips to meet suppliers and attend industry events.
About the Role
- Manage and grow an established portfolio of Defence and government clients (70% account management).
- Develop new business with Defence Primes, SMEs, and research organisations (30% business development).
- Work directly with engineers, technicians, procurement professionals, and program managers at all levels.
- Represent the company at Australian trade shows and international supplier meetings.
- Operate in a hybrid model with minimal required visits to the Sydney office-your time is best spent with customers.
About You
You may come from Defence sales, technical account management, or a hands‑on engineering/technician background. Sales experience is welcome but not essential, if you bring strong technical capability and a customer‑focused mindset.
You'll stand out if you have:
- Technical experience in RF, communications, electronics, or test & measurement.
- Confidence engaging with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- A proactive, relationship‑driven approach to customer engagement.
- Strong organisational skills and comfort working independently in a national role.
- Defence experience or veteran status (highly valued but not required).
